one more thing for the MRer's: if you want to take the train/bus option and want a cheap place to stay, the Hilton Doubletree in Johor Baru is a Cat 2 (was a Cat 1 when i stayed, which was ridiculous value). anyway, 10k points/night. if you're Diamond or Gold, they're basically paying you to stay there between breakfast and the Ex lounge. the train from KUL to SIN stops @ Johor Baru and then connects by bus to SIN.
