I can't believe I'd ever say that! And it's all thanks to you folk on here!
My first flight on BA was booked for late 2014 in WTP, for a significant birthday, to Las Vegas. Then I joined FT - and so the downward (or upward

) spiral began!
Firstly I upgraded the inbound to CW. Then a couple of weeks later, the outbound went the same way. Then I booked a couple of day returns to GVA and ARN, which caused great alarm in work colleagues and family who all thought I'd gone completely barmy! Luckily, my husband thought it a great adventure and was totally engaged with the slight madness of it all.
So we made bronze quite easily. Was that enough? Of course not! So onward to our first ex-EU in April 2015 - to Toronto (HBO for the first time ever), thereby ensuring we hit Silver! Hmmmm - we were liking this! Of course some serious depression hit when we waved goodbye to all the TPs in June.
Not to worry, another trip was booked for September, ex-EU of course, to IAD, then internal flight to TYS, then flight back to the UK out of MCO. That was it for the year we thought.....ah, here comes that LGW CE sale for £150. Well, it would be rude not to take advantage - flights to RAK ensue!
Then we start talking about a winter break in the sunshine - would my intrepid husband go for a TP run to HNL? Of course he would, so off we toddled on 4th January and enjoyed our first FT meet with the crazy crowd in Lulu's....and hey presto, on our return to the UK, bling status!
To be honest, we love the holidays/breaks/general travelling....status is a by product, but it's good fun! And now I well and truly have the bug, and I'm very lucky that my OH loves it all too, so this could be the beginning.
Thank you all for your knowledgable posts on various threads that I've read - I may not have posted on many but I am truly grateful. Otherwise we'd still probably have been sitting in Y on low cost airlines and charter flights, never having known J! All we are looking forward to one day is our first F....
