Fries, frikandel, bitterballen and the usual assortment of Dutch fried food is readily available in multiple locations very close to both hotels.

If you don't need a train from Centraal, I think it's a "coin-toss" as to which location is better. Marriott has Leidseplein and Museumplein closer. Renaissance has the Jordaan, The Nine Streets, Red Light. Truly a toss up. You also also likely to be in both areas. My personal preference for going to/from the airport is the #197 (airport express) bus or UberX. So, the Marriott would win with regard to the bus to/from the airport. If arriving by train from another city, the Renaissance is definitely more convenient in that regard (walking from Centraal).
