I am having a hard time really understanding the issue here. I pay my loans to Navient EVERY month using a credit card. There is absolutely no surcharge for paying by credit card. Although I do not have the option to pay by debit. Yes, you have to call to pay by CC. It is not a publicized option and cannot be done on auto-pay. You have to call every month and specifically ask for it. It is very routine though.

I don't know if the options available to me are because my loans are Department of Education loans that are merely being serviced by Navient as opposed to federal loans not directly held by Dept of Education.
