What a horrible experience, but I'm glad that you now have your bags. I flew home from LHR on Thursday 7/17, the day before the strike began and was quite happy to not have been involved in it. Although my flight from CDG to LHR was cancelled the night prior and I missed my connection back to SFO on 7/16, Wednesday, BA did put me put at a hotel for the night and appeared to care somewhat about my inconvenience, however, your bag story sounded like an awful experience.
