I've read the guide at the top of the thread but may have somewhat of a silly question. Since most of those journey's do not originate from London, what do Londoners do to get to those places...wouldn't those trips come with costs too?

Thanks!
Well, sometimes it's £50 or so to get from say London to Dublin on BA or Easyjet, Ryanair etc (can be £9.99 from MAN-DUB, or Liverpool etc occasionally on Ryanair). Other people may use 4500 Avios + £17.50? for a redemption flight - I do quite a lot especially if you're earning 46000 Avios back as a Gold member doing DUB-HNL.

Examples for Sun 7th Feb:

LHR-DUB

Aer Lingus £88
BA £104 hand baggage; £114 checked baggage (can knock £25 off for 3750 Avios and I earn 625)
BA 4000 Avios + £17.50 for a checked baggage redemption ticket; 7750 Avios + £25 for business class (selling at £402)

May be cheaper, may be more expensive some days / times.
