Indeed, it did, and I have a maiden flight memorial cover to confirm it.

On a separate note, I met with one of the Concordski project engineers in Voronezh a few years back. He was quite indignant at Western suggestions their plane was a copy of Concorde, but ackowledged the horrendous fuel economy problems they had encountered. Apparently, a separate aircraft had to fly ahead to Alma Ata with the special fuel the Concordski required for the return trip to Moscow.

A shame, really, that the Russians couldn't make this work. If there's one country which probably could really use a supersonic airliner, it's Russia! I've done the haul across to Russia's Pacific coast enough times on Aeroflot to want to shorten it as much as possible!
