I seem to remember reading somewhere a couple of years ago that Boeing had got together with the Russians to draw on their supersonic experience. Hadn't heard about the $11 mln. e-bay sale, but anything is possible in Russia. After all, their version of the space shuttle (also a lookalike copy) was grounded after its maiden flight (it lost a lot of tiles on re-entry, and was prohibitively expensive to operate), and is now an attraction in Gorky Park (the actual spacecraft is set up as a ride!).
