I am a known gay activist from India traveling to Dubai with my 3 cousins in Feb for a ten day trip. I am staying in a 4 star hotel apartment in Dubai and the hotel knows about my homosexuality. I wrote to them from my official email id regarding room booking. I work for an NGO that works with LGBT. It is quite evident from my virtual business card what I do. Sorry, but it just dawned on me after reservations and flight tickets were done that I shouldn't have used my official email. I am single and do not plan to explore the gay scene in UAE or even meet anyone. Should I cancel this trip as even being gay is illegal in the UAE? Could the hotel call the police on me?
