I have just read this thread and saw that this is your first trip to Africa, my recommendation is to book the entire trip with a US agent. I have not used Craig, but he is highly recommended and has been on FT a while. I am sure he will not only save you money, but save you time, effort and will coordinate your entire trip for you.

I have booked my many family trips to Africa with the same US based agent (not Craig). He always makes good suggestions, asks what my preferences are and tailors the trip to my specifications. While this is not always true in other parts of the world, a good US agent will save you money, make your trip exactly what you want and give you peace of mind. Just my opinion. Have a great trip!
