Yes the oneworld "joint venture" fares to/from North America are issued on an MPM basis instead of a directed routing.
There are some exceptions but on the whole you need get two transfers in Europe, two in North America, and a load of miles to play with.
That's what I thought but it just seems to push it into D on ITA. I'm using the calendar search. It's a while since I did one of these I am out of touch!
Should I be entering preferred transit points or flight numbers? I have tried both.
