Sounds like a beach day in Waikiki to me. Stash your luggage somewhere at the airport and take a shuttle or the city bus directly to Waikiki (30 minutes on the shuttle, 45 minutes on the bus). Lots to do around the Hilton Hawaii Village or further down the beach. Duke's is an acceptable beach bar and restaurant right on the beach.
