Do they allow kids to use the machines, or, as in the UK, must you be over 18? Any other tips to make sure we make this connection?
I think that might be tight. It is a very long walk from the gates at MIA to immigration. On my own and in First-so amongst first off- it takes 12 mins at a very fast walk. Not sure the age of your kids or what class you are in but it could be touching 20mins from getting off the plane to arriving at immigration.
The line for the automated machines when I last went was long but moved very fast. The time before when my wife got the dreaded "x" from the automated machine- it took us 2 hours to clear immigration. This is partly because Miami doesn't have an "X" line so you just get lumped in with all the normal passengers who can't use the machines (which at certain times of the day is hellish).
