I had my partner join me in the hotel that I booked via VacAAtions as he had separate travel arrangements. it was not an issue at all.

If necessary, you can tell them the travel agent made a mistake. If there's an extra fee (not common, but certainly possible - usually only when breakfast is included) then just pay it.

And make sure the room you select is not a single room!
