We as a family of 4 are travelling next year to the US, my partner and I have been previously but the 2 children, 6 and 4 have not. Do they require fingerprints to be taken or is it only adults?

Am I right in thinking, as the kids haven't been before will we require to queue and not go through the APC machines?
Technically you are supposed to go through the regular visitors line. In practice, however, unless stopped by an officer, you can use the kiosks. The children will then be issued an X-marked receipt (because no previous entry) and you'll all go into the X line (Problem line) for the issues to be corrected. The X line, although obviously longer than the non-X line, should be shorter than the regular visitors line.
