ID hell: No
Shoe hell: No. Once I was asked if I've ever been through the detectors with my shoes, I had, so they waved me through.
Lucky my home airport is pretty sane..

ID hell: Not really, but they do check id twice when you go through security, once up front, once right after you clear the metal detector. So more like ID dumb.
Shoe hell: No. Every so often I am asked if I want to take off my shoes, I say no and that's it.

DTW:
ID hell: No.
Shoe hell: No, but maybe I got lucky. They did make a couple take off their shoes in front of me, but my wife and I, didn't even ask.
