with that kind of spend I would focus on bonuses too. Citi AA Platinum World gets converted to World Elite (automatically by Citibank) with regularity and then you can grab another World Select. I'm working on my third in 9 months right now. AA Business adds another 50k bonus, add a citigold checking account for another 50k bonus. Fairly easy 150k in bonuses pretty quick to jumpstart the account. For straight spend I would use the SPG for options to get some premium hotel options or get the bonus 5k miles for every 20k you send to AA but as other have mentioned there is no guarantee as to how long that card will be around.
