I once tried to get my bags tagged MEL-SIN-BKK-SIN-AMS-CPH-GOT-FRA-TLV, flying SQ, TG, SK and LH. I was told that the computer could only handle 5 legs. So I thought since I had the longest layover in SIN, to organise everything there. Then I was told that It couldn't be tagged to SIN then BKK then back to SIN, so it was only tagged for one flight. In SIN, I was told to just leave the bags there as there'd be no point sending them to BKK only to come back. Once I had arrived in SIN back from BKK, a trainee at the transfer desk informs me that my bags can only be tagged 4 segments, meaning till FRA, but they could only give me BPs till GOT.

My suitcase never came out of the hold at CPH so I knew something was up, but I was in a rush to find my next gate so did nothing about it, assuming it was lost somewhere. In GOT, there was no transit desk so I had to exit and go to Departures/Check in. They gave me a BP but could do nothing about my bags, which I had to fix up in FRA.

At FRA of course my bags never arrived, went to LH luggage who informed me the bags never left AMS with me. Instead they had been rerouted to GOT on KL, and they would telex GOT to put them on the next FRA flight. My connecting flight to TLV wasn't for around 7 hours so I waited. Of course the bags weren't put on the next FRA flight.

LH gave me a kit and told me the'y be put on the next FRA flight and would arrive in TLV and the later that afternoon. Of course LH in TLV knew nothing about my bags, and eventually my bags were put on the TLV flight 24 hours after I flew on it.

From there I checked my bags TLV-FRA-YYZ-YUL-LGA on LH and AC. I got BPs for all segments, bagage arrived without any problems.
