BA still flies LHR-SIN-SYD. I don't see them changing the AU-EU counts as transiting Asia rule while BA keeps that flight. Even if BA did drop the flight, I don't see QF or QR agreeing to change the rule. They'd earn more per sector from a xONE4 then an xONE3.

Yes of course. I've even flown BA between SYD & LHR a few times.
