FYI, This time of year GIG can experience departure delays due to thunderstorms.

If you have Global Entry then IAH immigration is a breeze. OTOH, the baggage claim has delayed me as much as 20+ minutes. GE is the only accelerated access program through IAH. If you are a US citizen without GE the kiosks are pretty fast. If you are not a USC then the connection is too tight.

The TSA re-check inside security can be very slow in the morning. Some flyers exit security and go upstairs to the other TSA check point.

To make a 1.5 hour connection everything would have to be perfect. I wouldn't try it.
