I know you mentioned in your other post that you are about to stay at the National in Moscow, how was that (aside from $200 for a single bed, which I assume is totally expected in Moscow).</font>
The National was nice except for the shockingly small rooms. I felt exactly like the bad old days in Russia, when my trips to the regions provided an unending, unchanging rotation of identical Soviet hotel rooms: a single bed, a table, a lamp, a tray with a water pitcher and two glasses, DIY bed linens, the two tiny tea towels in place of actual towels... I'm joking, it wasn't anywhere near that grim. The public areas of the hotel are pretty nice, actually, and of course the location is unbeatable for tourist purpses. Just don't expect to be able to swing a cat in your room. And if you're taller than 5'6" (I'm not), forget this hotel. The beds are miniscule.

I may just get to do that in September! My trip to Siberia got blown up by an amazingly stupid series of screw-ups last Sunday, and I ended up coming home early. So now I might go back out in the fall. Oh boy.
