Not really a question, but holy crap the southwestern pass that's only good for YVR/YYC/YEG to "Sun Destinations" (SFO/LAX/LAS/PHX/PSP) is super cheap.
$2299 CAD for 6 credits in the Latitude version.
The cheapest SFO-YVR-SFO flights leaving tomorrow, coming back Sunday (so not even the specific flights I want, just the cheapest) comes out to $1144.21.
So... I can book the better flights (which cost $1285.21), I get a 25% COS bonus, I don't need eUps, I can confirm to J (although the outbound flight is currently J0), I'm top of the waitlist if I do need to put myself on it, if for some reason I end up in Y, I get free food, and it's significantly cheaper than booking the flights outright.
If I do this trip twice this year, I win. If I do it three times, I REALLY win.
I don't get it. The 10 credit passes make sense because you get a large discount for a "volume" purchase.
But this is hardly a volume purchase. Using 4 of the 6 credits makes it cheaper, and it pretty much guarantees you J if you can book 48 hours out.
I'm going to recommend this to a friend of mine who flies SFO-YVR a couple times a year. And I may buy it myself.
