I've recently been seeing something interesting wherein the SPG "lowest available rate" will be $x, then I click through, and it's $y (y > x). Alternatively, lowest available is $x, and that's for a premium room, but I can still redeem Starpoints for cash and points/an award night at regular rates, and if I click on that in the search, it will offer traditional paid rooms for $z (z < x).
