The bad part was that money was stolen... not a very large amount, but still 3.000 bath is not pocket change either. It was not done on a whim, from a stack of 10x1000 batch 3 bills (in a purse that was in a bag) were taken and some smaller amount that was more in the open was left untouched as was the phone that was charging. Bad luck that I did notice it when returning to the room... but I knew it would be impossible to prove anything because I left the money in the room.
So I was reluctant to even report it, but my girlfriend (rightly) convinced me otherwise. It should be noted what happened even if nobody would be found guilty this time.
So I contacted the hotel manager directly, got a quick response and security did come by the next day to take a readout of the cardreader at the door. And I even got a call and email that they were looking into it but still had a few more people to speak to who had been in the room (as far as I know at least laundry pickup, housekeeping and the guy replacing the fruit). In that last email I was asked for my schedule the next day so he could meet me, after that 2 days of silence...... and I left.
Just this morning after my email inquiring about the status did I get a reply nobody had confessed (duh) so that was the end of the investigation, could he meet me to discuss.... Really, not even having taken the time to check when I was leaving.... Just saw an email offering some sort of apology, haven't read it yet... and am not really interested anymore.
So yes, a bad experience (even though it was my fault by providing the opportunity) that was handled even worse.
