if SFO-ORD and ORD-MUC have seperate checkbox while doing a change flights there is a fare break. How you got that is unusual.

Is the new ORD-MUC fare also T? So to create the lowest fare it is changing the SFO-ORD to get a SFO-MUC pricing??

On united.com, you can't -- you can only see it at booking. It requires purchasing a paid service to see them after booking.
