Just as a note CX counts Great Circle Distance if you take a direct flight with stops (I don't mean nonstop) (recently discussed example include CX888 JFK-YVR-HKG http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/catha...l#post25842035).

But if you are making your own connections then CX counts the Great Circle Distance of every transit you put in.
