Having once had a very uncomfortable experience in a coach class carriage full of drunk, obnoxious human **** (on their way back from a football game I believe), I now travel in first whenever I can.

The usual football yob will tavel in first if he feels like it and often does as one gaurd and fifty drunken half wits dont make good odds when it comes to getting them to move.
In March I was on a train to London when we had very large, smelly, drunk guy start shouting abuse at my Italian friend as he did not like foriegners.
I now the gaurd saw all of this and he did nothing.
I politely offered to help him get off the train at the next station or let him be lifted off by the paramedics. Obviously game for a fight he stood next to me whilst I was still seated.
When I stood up and at the same time removed a carbon fibre tube about 1 metre long the whole train went very quiet.
The fat guy realised that he might be twice as big as me, but I obviosly was more than happy to show him the floor.
As the train pulled into the station he staggered off to a lot of jeering from other passengers.
As we moved off the gaurd came out of his hiding hole and said he was trying to get the railway police, but they were nearly an hours drive away.(thanks for your help I thought)
This kind of thing happens all too often in the UK on trains and stations are often full of drunks and beggars.
For what you pay to transport you from A to B, the railway service in the UK has to be one of the biggest scams going.
After this incident I now refuse to allow any of my clients travel by train
