Our payroll manager used to say, when commuting daily, this little advantage was worth every extra pound - as opposed to fighting for a chance to stand in standard class (every standard seat was gone, every day by the time the train rolled into her station).

Personally, I never used FC; I was always doing a 'reverse commute' on the odd occasions that I had to use British Rail. Standard was always half full, and more than adequate.
