Three observations.

1. In either case, its a short flight compared to the LAX-LHR run that I do. This makes the Clubhouse and dinner pre-flight a much more attractive option. Eat, get on the plane, go to sleep. Opt for the first 8 rows and you are in the sleep zone.

2. Lie-Flat on VS is better (IMHO) for the true overnight portion of the flight. It provides greater width and length (and foot well room) and the jammies are actually quite a nice option.

3. Service and food - the mean age of the flight attendants on VS is half that of Delta - not that this is important, just an observation. Service is efficient, friendly, and British. Food is edible. The salt and pepper shakers are collectible.

As for the return - I prefer Delta seats. Better opportunities to recline but not fully recline - view out the window does NOT require contortionist skills - better entertainment options.
