It is possible, but you'd need to book through a travel agent or call either BA or QF Reservations. I booked both flights in J class and requested the best fare for the cabin - and I got the following full IATA fare. It wasn't any better when I request two one-ways (that came out higher).

So yes, you can do it, but there probably aren't any fares lower than:
