Well, having arrived from New York last Friday night, the Executive Selection was particularly boring this time around...mostly pick your color Altima's, Malibu's...a sprinkling of Hyundai Sonatas here and there.

The SUV side wasn't particularly exciting either, with a couple Dodge Journey's, Hyundai Santa Fe's and whatever. This was one of the nicer vehicles available, and I needed something bigger to haul a few things.

This is a welcome change. Unfortunately, GM hasn't changed to their switchblade style keys for this particular platform yet. Still, one set of keys and this flexible tag with the barcode is definitely cool. I've noticed this with the last couple rentals I've had and it definitely makes my pocket a lot less bulky!

Having driven it's GM siblings (a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse and a 2014 GMC Acadia), I expected a similar driving experience. The Buick is definitely the most luxurious of the three. I also felt the ride was a bit softer.

The 2016 model year brings in few changes - it's mid-cycle refresh was in 2013 and it's replacement (which is rumored to be smaller than the current generation) will be due out later this year.

Key standard equipment on the Leather Group includes:
  • 3.6L VVT V6 engine
  • All Wheel Drive
  • 19" Aluminum Alloy wheels
  • Leather front bucket seats with 8 way power adjustments and power lumbar
  • Heated front seats
  • Leather 2nd Row Captain's Chairs
  • 3rd Row leather bench
  • 2 Position driver seat and mirror memory
  • Buick IntelliLink Infotainment System (FM, AM, XM, USB, Bluetooth Audio, AUX)
  • Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control
  • Remote Keyless Entry with Remote Start
  • Dual Pane moonroof with power front panel and fixed rear panel
  • Leather and wood wrapped Heated steering wheel
  • Rear park assist with rear backup camera
  • Side Blind Zone alert and rear cross traffic alert
  • Xenon HID headlamps with LED DRL accents

No real complaints from me. I pretty much liked it and would rent it again.

One noted improvement for this year is that they moved the USB port to the center console by the cigarette lighter (it used to be in an awkward cubby on the top of the dash.)

According to the registration paperwork in the glovebox, the vehicle was only registered back in October 2015. So, the mileage is a bit on the high side for the vehicle being a few months old...

Probably had a few road trips under her belt. She does make a great road trip vehicle. Nice and roomy, comfortable and decent mileage.

I also got decent mileage, around 20 in the city and 23 on the highway...not too shabby for a larger vehicle such as this.
