Apologies if this is answered elsewhere, I couldn't find this particular question.

I will be attending a wedding and the hosts have set up a room block at the Marriott where everything's taking place.

The rate for the block is the same as the general rate, with the exception of the wedding block getting refundable while the same rate online is advance purchase.

If I book through the block, and pay for the room, will I receive points as usual (10x plus elite bonus)? If so, I'll do that, but if not, I'll probably just book directly with Marriott since the rate is the same.
