Location: 1 hour from Khao Yai, Thailand. No longer Bangkok, China, Taiwan , Palm Coast, FL, LA, or Chicago though still exiled, again, from the Bay Area.

Well, if you haven't really notced, AA has been doing this for some time. Sometime last year I noticed all my tickets had (extremely) higher carrier imposed fees separately shown, though the total fare was always as shown on the website when you make your flight selection. I thought that this was a way to devalue the Business Extras earnings but that wasn't the case as BE still gives points based upon the base+ carrier imposed fees. Might be a way to reduce the taxes. Maybe AA wants us to play the fuel dump game, which I still don't fully understand, but then who knows. Ask the experts.
