I quite enjoyed it. It's not like he's reviewing spirit air, this is American Airlines Transcontinental First Class, a flagship product which AA itself describes as a "First Class cabin that feels like a private jet". The way they describe their menu certainly makes it seem like a fine dining establishment:
Your journey on our A321 transcontinental service includes menus inspired by restaurateur Sam Choy:
Refreshing fruit, cucumber-infused water or sparkling wine
Warm mixed nuts followed by a three-course meal such as Lobster risotto or Wagyu meatloaf
For dessert, a choice of our signature customized sundae or seasonal fruit and cheese
A snack served shortly before arrival
And his comments are in line for a critical review of the product... If this was Southwest or Spirit airlines, sure, they'd be inappropriate. But again, this is AA first class. On a 3-class plane. sfo777 also gives praise when due. Like re: eagle crew.
Also, I'd note that the half-melted three twins ice cream I seem to usually get (as opposed to the rock-solid frozen ice cream everyone else seems to get...) is definitely not the "signature customized sundae " advertised...
