The seller was offering the miles in exchange for the amount equivalent to what he could get in Esso Gift cards. So less than 1 cent per mile. I didn’t even have a specific use in mind for them. Just thought it was too good to pass up.

Since this post, I have notified the seller that I am not interested because it’s against the Terms and Conditions and his freak out reaction has led me to suspect that he was probably going to try to rip me off anyway. That combined with the fact that it was a too good to be true offer and he seemed to know a little too much about aeroplan for someone willing to sell for so cheap.

So Flyertalk has saved me from 2 potential negative scenarios. 1) Being Ripped off and 2) Something similar to what happened to the OP in the shared thread. Thanks again.

My advice, make sure you deal with a reputable broker. The seller is taking the risk of having their account shut down, not you.
