Is it ok not to take the connections (tix purchaed as a round trip)?
Hi, I'm a newbie. I hope this is the correct forum & not been discussed before.

I need to find a cheap r/t ticket to Memphis from LAX.

The lowest price that I could find is over $300 across all airlines.

But Northwest has a flight to Kansas City with a stopover in Memphis for only $170.

Would it be okay if I purchase a r/t tickets to Kansas City but not to take the last leg of the flight?

I'm afraid my return ticket will be cancelled since I don not complete the trip. Does anybody else have this experience before? Thanks!
