We just returned last week from a trip to France. We traveled from Paris Gare du Lyon to Nice (about 5.5 hours) in TGV First Class and returned from Nice to Paris CDG (about 6.5 hours) also in TGV First Class. We sat in the duplex seats facing each other with a table in between. It was very comfortable and enjoyable way to travel. Our car was very full of passengers so the luggage storage was a bit sparse. Luckily, we were first on and able to get our luggage stored with no problem. It would have been a much longer trip by car. There is food available for purchase - but it's nothing special. We carried our lunch on with us both ways. The scenery along the Riviera is great! I would definitely recommend the high speed trains in Europe. Just wish we had them in the US.
