However, you're still talking a walk of at least 1.5 miles (25-30 minutes) from the terminal as far as the Four Ashes whilst negotiating several roundabouts and no real pedestrian consideration. Off the top of my head, parts of this walk have no footpaths and so you're walking along potentially quite muddy verges.
There are only two roundabouts, and one of them is a mini roundabout. And Parsonage Road is now pretty quiet, so the lack of footpaths shouldn't be a problem (i.e., one can walk along the side of the road)
Back in the old days - when the A120 went through Takeley, and the only "official" way into the airport was from the M11 end - Parsonage Road was quite busy because anyone coming from the East would use it as a shortcut (those that knew about it - and most of us did). But with the "new" A120, and the additional entrance to the airport by the mid-stay car park, the road is only used for local traffic.
(I don't disagree that a bus would be quicker - just saying that the walk along Parsonage Road isn't the problem that you think it is)
