In fairness to EK, I see this as an understandable wish on their part to maintain a more professional, service-oriented approach. A sense of decorum within the premium cabins.

In contrast to which, many pax (especially those not familiar with the 380 bar protocol) might well think it rather odd - even tacky ?? - to see fellow pax wandering down the aisle clutching a full-sized wine/champers bottle, whereas it's a perfectly normal thing for FA's to do.

In similar vein, you wouldn't wander around the lounge bar area of a luxury hotel with a bottle of booze - but the hotel staff would certainly be seen doing just that.

Wow .....didn't think I would find that much to write about a drink which I happily enjoy now & then, but which doesn't really do a whole lot for me ....
