Checkmytrip.com did not have the JL locator so I phoned BA who gave it to me, but on the JL site it only showed the BA metal flghts! I phoned JL who said that it was the only locator and that they could not make any changes to bookings made by BA.
So no change since the last time I flew on JL a couple of years ago.
JL domestic flights are designed to be shuttles so seat selection is not a high priority. I think most people don't bother.
If you are in Y (

) but a oneworld elite, JAL will put you near the front and block the seat beside you when you check in, number permitting.
If you're in J or F in my personal opinion I don't think it matters where you sit.
