We had a rather lengthy conversation with DeltaAssist and ended up calling and escalating to a booking dept. phone supervisor when my mom's plane SLC to SAN was EQ changed and her 3A A fare seat was switched to 5A still ticketed as an A fare but on the replacement 32R is C+.

I found all this out after her flight, or I'd have advised her to not sit down and ask for a Red Coat, which she said is what the very angry PAX in 4A did. They both ended up staying as switched.

DeltaAssist & initial phone rep kept insisting that she flew in first, the supervisor understood "There are only 3 rows of F on a 32R" and gave her 5k miles. She is fine with it.
