My post was in relation to a comment that BA are going against their advertised service by not offering champagne, which they are not. Clearly it wasn't an obvious point as I had to clarify it.
In terms of the move, as it is a 'forced move' by GAL, I would concur as you suggest that GAL are paying for BA's temporary use of the No.1 Lounge as well as the fit-out of their new lounge and other required space in the South Terminal.
VS were clearly unwilling to move out of South until their own new Clubhouse in North was ready (which is taking the space of the former BA lounges). It's a chicken and egg situation of VS/BA. Somebody had to use a third party lounge until their own lounge was ready, as space can't just be magicked up.
Looking at the facts, the No.1 Lounge is a perfectly adequate third party offering that will only be used for c.10 months.
