We are planning on a trip to South America next winter and I have been looking at flights we can book with our AS miles. We will fly from our home to a gateway city---MIA or JFK---and want a non-stop flight from there ( not the same day).
Our first choice for the return flight would be from EZE to JFK on American, specifically AA954. This is a 777-200 and we will probably end up in Economy as very few award seats are released in J. The seat map for this flight on the AS website is wrong---it shows 3-3-2 seating in Economy with singles in the last row or two, , instead of 3-4-3 with 3-4 rows of duo seats at the very back. (That is what the AA website shows). It seems the AS diagram is missing a row on the far right and also one in the middle.

So how do we choose seats in this situation? As a couple we hope to get a pair of seats on the side at the back ( but not the last row). Will Assume give us an AA confirmation number that I can use on the AA website to get the right seats?
Thanks for your help.
