Slightly contrary to what I just posted or just omitted to say but....I do agree with you on the surface of things. They should have provided the service prior to the arrangements being finalised, but now it has been put in place I don't see change forthcoming.

I have an awful lot of sympathy for those who are once a year/lifetime self funded travellers in CW/F who are not getting the service that once was. This abates somewhat with the people who access using status on a frequent basis and who will continue doing so long after these arrangements cease, reaping the benefit of the improvements. Just a point to note, I think BA only advertise champagne in their own lounges and should be remembered that the No1 is not, nor do they pretend it to be.

It has to be remembered that this is only a temporary measure whilst we await what will hopefully be a far better product for us all than before. Although I don't frequent LGW that often (twice per year perhaps) my view is this. Roadworks are a general pain in the proverbial while they are in progress but usually result in a vast improvement of infrastructure long term. Potholes then develop like happened in T5, which are now also in the process of being filled.
