So, I'm in a hotel room last week, and I'm working on my computer. I look up at the TV, and for some reason there is a menu on the screen (overlaid on top of the program) that said "Channel, Barker, Firmware, Address."
I don't know if I was sitting on the remote and did something to bring up this menu or what, but I played with the choices and discovered that:
1. Barker allowed me to set which channel is displayed when you first turn the TV on.
2. Channel allowed me to add/delete channels from the list of allowed channels.
So, I, being evil, and possessed of a little bit of knowledge about how OnCommand works, realized that I could add and view the channels just above the real barker channel.
When you order a movie (G-Rated, I'm sure), OnCommand shows it on an available channel in this range and then enables only your TV to reach that channel.
So, in the 10 or so channels above the barker, I could see the movies that anybody in the hotel was presently viewing.
Needless to say, no one was watching "Catch Me If You Can!" The irony (aside from the fact it was all straight porn

) was that the volume buttons controlled the menu, so there was no way to turn down the volume on the set, so if I wanted to watch one of these, everyone near my door was going to know about it.
I could find no way to exit the menu after adding these channels, and I finally had to unplug the OnCommand box to reset it, and the channels went away along with the menu!!
So, anyone had this experience? Anyone know how to do it again (maybe someplace with better movie selections!)?
