Yes, but it was related to the economy, not 9/11

Yes, upgrades whenever possible.

Were you supposed to fly September 11th '01 or the following days after and if so what happened?
I flew BOS to SEA via PHX on 9/7/01. I was suppose to fly SEA to BOS via LAS on 9/14, but BOS was still closed. I flew to LAS, spent two days and flew to BOS on 9/16, just after the airport officially reopened.

Did you fly September 11th '02?
NO, but only becuase I was not scheduled to fly anywhere on that date. If I had been, I would have gone without any hestitation.
