Whenever I here KLM in flight announcements, it alsways sounds like Shipol but the "Sh" part of the pronounciation sounds a little harder than we would in English. From an english perspective, I think its best to think of a soft short s followed by a soft ch.

On the other hand, I might simply be mis-hearing it .
