"The roof of the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Old Town collapsed into itself, folding into the check-in area of the building. When crews arrived on scene, they found the drain pipe on the roof had collapsed. Water damage was reported throughout the hotel, especially in the check-in area. Flash flooding conditions also filled the underground garage up with water, though it is unclear whether the water came from a sewer line or down the driveway. No one was injured."
That building has always had drainage issues. 4 years ago I was staying there every month for a couple of weeks and Jan/Feb were brutal. Elevator shaft leaked and had to be shut down. Water collected in that spot that just collapsed. Not sure what the property was built as (maybe a Holiday Inn), but this has been an ongoing issue. Don't know if Bud is still the GM, but he fought that battle many times.
