If they're planning on putting this camera in a window indoors and pointing it outside, be aware that this is only going to work during the daytime. At night, it will be too dark for the camera to see anything unless outside is well lit, and if the camera has any infrared LEDs for night vision, these will just cause massive glare in the window glass.
Yeah their place has security lights that could be rival a prison for brightness that have PIR detectors. If you approach the house after dark and don't know not to look up, it's like staring at the sun (a slight exaggeration but not far off). Bloke who owned the house before was a little paranoid!
