I was recently faced with the same dilemma (looking for a warm-weather destination close to Europe, but not wanting to go the Middle East). Ultimately, I decided for a winter holiday instead, as none of the options looked really appealing.

Friends stayed at Abama with two small kids and liked it overall, but what put me off was the beach that looks extremely underwhelming (just google it).
